John T. Beckman, Jr., Tenth Vice President, was appointed to the IATSE General Executive Board in the summer of 2004. He has been a member of the St. Louis-based IATSE Local 6 since 1970. Beckman joined the IATSE after a stint in the US Army and has been the Business Agent of the stage local for 26 years. Prior to being elected as Business Agent in 1978, Beckman spent four years as a member of the local’s executive board.

Beckman credits his uncle, a retired member of Local #6 for getting his start in the IATSE. He has been married for 24 years and has two sons.
