Employment Information for IATSE Members in the Gulf States
Workers in the Gulf States region who are currently unemployed
because of the hurricane can file for disaster unemployment assistance
or unemployment benefits by way of the following State agencies:
a) Louisiana: Louisiana workers could be eligible for benefits
of up to $256.00 per week. You can call (866) 783-5567 or access
the website www.laworks.net
b) Mississippi: Mississippi workers could be eligible for benefits
of up to $210.00 per week. You can call (888) 844-3577 or access
the website www.mdes.ms.gov
c) Alabama: Alabama workers could be eligible for benefits
of up to $220.00 per week. The phone number is (866) 234-5382
This program is also open to evacuees from both Mississippi and
Louisiana that have relocated to Alabama because of the storm.
