AEA Supports Local 500/IATSE at Kravis Center

The National Council of Actors’ Equity met and voted unanimously to officially lend its support to Local 500/IATSE in its 12-year struggle to achieve a fair and equitable contract with the Kravis Center (West Palm Beach, FL).

NDP MP Alexandre Boulerice Filibusters to Impede Progress of Bill C-377

On November 26, Alexandre Boulerice, the NDP Labour Critic, tabled a motion requesting that Bill C-377 be dropped. Under the rules of Committees of the House, a speaker is entitled to speak on his motion until he is finished. M Boulerice then proceeded to speak for the entire two-hour time period allotted to the committee to deal with the clause-by-clause review and the proposed amendments.
AFL-CIO Endorses IATSE's Kravis Center Boycott

The AFL-CIO has officially endorsed the IATSE’s boycott of the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach, Fla., effective today. AFL-CIO policy states that after official endorsement, the venue will stay on the Federation’s boycott list for one year, unless the IA requests its removal.
